“From northern Blvd., straight up junction, my system got the beat in full function”-Pyscho Les (The Beatnuts).

I’m a New York City native, and I’ve been honing my art skills since I was 13 years old.   My first experience with any type of artwork came through graffiti art.  It all started at the “Writer’s Block,” a space set up by friends and other local urban creatives at our school cafeteria. The Writer’s Block was where we came together to talk about life and what we were interested at the time - graffiti art. While all of us were of diverse backgrounds, we all shared a common interest and passion for graffiti. We admired the same graffiti legends and aspired to be great graffiti artists. I joined a graffiti group and created artwork for the public to view. Living in an urban environment, I was able to showcase my work on the walls of abandoned warehouses, billboards, and train platforms. This was continued throughout my late teens until I ventured into college where I planned to learn other art forms and improve as an artist. While I initially planned to start college, the universe had other plans for me. A turn of events on September 11, 2001 led me to join the United States Marine Corp to serve my country instead. In addition to my military responsibilities and duties, I was able to build on my creative and artistic skills, often creating the drawings and graphics for platoon banners and t-shirts.  While I have had varied work and educational experiences, one thing has remained constant – an urge to continue creating art. Traveling the world has exposed me to different styles of art and inspired me to step outside of my comfort zone and take risks. I consider my art to be contemporary abstract, I like to remain honest to myself and my work.
